Notes	Letter from Robert Dillington to his cousin, Sir John Oglander OG/CC/115 17 December 1654 Contents: Asks if his cousin, William Oglander, will find out who has brought the charges against him at the Houses of Parliament. Is sorry to hear of his cousin's death [Bridget Eyton, nee Oglander, Sir John' s daughter who was buried at Brading, 5 Dec 1654]. 1/3 of letter taken up with the problem of Robert's illegitimate daughter. [Her mother was a cousin of Robert and John's and it caused a great scanda l at the time]. Robert's daughter was now demanding money from him, also she had made a marriage treaty with a man called Hooker, therefore Robert would be obliged to give them a certain sum (77/34, 120/63)
